This would be our first Foretravel Rally. We’d enjoyed the Heartland Rally’s we attended with our 5th Wheel. We’d met many members in their annual Rally at the Tampa RV Supershow before we found our Foretravel.
This year’s Rally was held on the banks of the St. John’s river on the grounds of the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, west of Palatka, Florida. Rodeheaver, whose slogan is “It Is Better To Build Boys Than to Mend Men”, provides a “wholesome home environment with social, educational, Spiritual and vocational training for up to 50 at-risk young men who, because of parental death, desertion, divorce and/or disability, have no home of their own.” The Ranch, the lifelong dream of Homer Rodeheaver, was established in 1950.
The Ranch maintains a vast RV campground with over 500 electric and water sites that host, as fundraising for the Ranch, music festivals and events such as our Rally.
You’ll see from the picture link below that the property is beautiful. Our Rally featured native Florida folk music, tours of historic Palatka, food and fellowship with the large contingent of Foretravel owners who attended. We’re looking forward to the next Rally we can attend.
