Waimea was next region of the Big Island we visited. Our home while here was Waimea Gardens B&B. What a beautiful and relaxing spot!
The beauty of this part of the Island was perhaps our favorite.
Waipi’o Valley was the Capital and permanent capital of many early Hawaiian kings. Once home to over 10,000, the Valley now hosts only a handful of permanent resident who farm Taro and provide history of the Valley by tours. Our 4 wheel tour was hosted by a young 20-something who’d been born a still lives in the Valley.
Another highlight of our time in the Waimea region was a hike down Pololu Trail.
Parker Ranch provided a glimpse into the ranching history of the Waimea region.
And, what visit to Hawaii would be complete without a sunset dinner to say Good Bye?
